"Online fashion retailer Asos has reported a sharp rise in sales, although headline profits slumped due to the continuing costs of relocating to a new warehouse.  Revenue for the six months to the end of September rose to £217m, up more than 50% on a year earlier.  Overseas sales more than doubled and continued to drive revenue growth" -- BBC News

Since their establishment in 2000, 'As Seen On Screen' has grown from strength-to-strength, boasting sales figures for the financial year ending March 31st 2011, of £339.7 million. " "I am pleased to report strong first half performance... [reflecting] the increased contribution or our international business," said Asos chief executive Nick Robertson."  Asos has only been mobile since 2010, but they've seen a huge increase in revenue since their various websites, facebook and apps have launched.  In the same year, Asos France launched, subsequently followed by Germany, USA, Spain, Italy and Australia  (the latter three in 2011) - increasing sales by 142% in 2010 alone.  Most recently voted "Best Retailer of the Year" by the Reveal Click to Buy Awards, Asos are slowly going for world domination - and with their extensive range of products, very fair prices and superb customer service, it's no wonder why!

"The sale of shares in Groupon has raised $700m (£437m) after the public offering was priced higher than had been expected.  Shares in the company were originally priced in a range of $16 to $18 a share, but were eventually sold at $20.  It values the business at almost $13bn" -- BBC News

Groupon is a craze that's relatively new (circa 2010) yet taking the market by storm!  The idea is basic but apparently genius - offering various discounts for everything from spa breaks, to restaurants, to dental work!  There are daily deals for different areas (London, Surrey etc) including large companies/chains as well as more unique 'boutiquey' feel shops.

It doesn't surprise me that they're doing so well - during this difficult climate, who wouldn't want to grab a bargain or two!
